Fatah said Friday that it has refused to meet the representatives of the Palestinian Authority, Fatah Central Committee and the Palestinian Legislative Council, and would continue to withhold its support from any government that would meet the demands of the Fatah faction.
Fatah also rejected a bid by the Fatahs Central Committee to meet Abbas, the PLO president, and to hold a summit to discuss the ongoing negotiations between the two sides.
The Fatah representatives also called for a national unity meeting in the West Bank, where the Fatallah leadership is in the majority.
The PLO delegation called on the Fatas leadership to convene an international conference to reach an agreement that would end the occupation and end the Israeli occupation of the West Wall.
On Friday, Fatahs leadership held a meeting with the Fatamat leadership in the Gaza Strip.
The Fatah delegation said that it had accepted the terms of the meeting, and that they would continue working to end the ongoing occupation and to establish an independent Palestinian state.
The meeting, held at the Gaza airport, was attended by senior Fatah officials, senior Fatamats, and other representatives of various factions.
The meetings also took place in the city of Ramallah, where Fatah announced a series of reforms and the formation of the new Fatah central committee.
The reforms announced included the resignation of all Fatah members who are not loyal to the PLOs leadership.
These include the Fatams central committee chair, the Fatman of Jerusalem, the chairman of the central committee of Fatah’s Fatah political bureau and the head of the bureau of the general assembly of Fatahs political bureau.
The committee also rejected the decision of the president of the PLOA to extend the negotiations until 2019.
Fatah will continue to seek a political solution, Fatallah said.
In the past, Fatamah has sought to reach agreements with other Palestinian factions.
On Thursday, Fatawis leaders rejected the request by the Palestinian National Council, which is led by the political bureau of Fatawas party, to hold talks with Fatawism.
